Zafar Kalanauri is a leading practitioner in the areas of civil law, family law, banking law, company law and arbitration, and is a Senior Partner at Zafar Kalanauri & Associates. He has received training in Mediation Skills by CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), UK, and is on the panel of mediators at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce Mediation Centre. He is also a Mediator and Arbitrator at the Centre for International Investment and Commercial Arbitration (CIICA).
He was elected: President of the Lahore Bar Association (1996-97); Member of the Punjab Bar Council (Session 2000-05); and Vice President of the Pakistan Mediators Association, a position he currently holds.
He has worked extensively on the Civil Justice Reform Project, which successfully ran pilot projects for expeditious disposal of family and commercial cases by employing case management and mediation techniques.
Zafar has also published in leading law journals and newspapers on legal, political, human rights and social issues. He was the editor of the Comparative Law Journal, a publication of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.
Zafar is teaching Legal Aid Clinic I to final year LL.B students this semester.
