Muhammad Ali Syed is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), and a graduate of the University of London. He has also completed the Society of Actuaries (SOA) International Financial Reporting for Insurers (IFRI) certificate program. 

Since 2022, Ali is heading the Corporate Underwriting Department in IGI Life where he looking after pricing, valuation and MIS development of group business. He has over fifteen years actuarial consulting experience with companies in UAE, KSA, Africa and Pakistan. He has worked on diverse projects ranging from due diligence, pricing and valuations of general and life insurance business and employee benefit schemes. He has also assisted various companies on conducting gap analysis of IFRS 17. Ali was a key speaker in IFRS-17 Symposium conducted by Bahrain Insurance Association.
